I'm in a fantasy football league and have never participated in the draft. I've always gone with the 'automatic draft' option and allowed the host site to pick the best available player for me each round. This year, I'm diving in and making my own selections. I usually end up in the middle of the pack at the end of the year and feel like by drafting my own team, I have a better chance of a winning season.
My question: Assuming they are available, who would be your first three picks? Why?
Here are mine:
1) Larry Johnson (RB)
2) Peyton Manning (QB)
3) Antonio Gates (TE)

Err...Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard, and David Beckham?
You have to go Running Back with your first pick...that's the rule of fantasy.
1. Larry Johnson
2. Shaun Alexander
3. LaDainian Tomlinson
Dude
larry johnson is going to be good... but keep in mind he has lost his left side all pro guard ... willy Roaf and his blocking back TRich. as he is called. The Chiefs O struggled when Willy Roaf waas out for a few games. in other words.. them might be able to key on him a lot more this year because their best Receiver Tony G in to block.
so i would pick him up but might put LT from San Diego a head of him.
then again.... New coach Herm Edwards said he was going to run even more
shoot.. if you can get him pick him up
but your first two picks should be RB's ... you can always pick up a good QB... just running back for the first two..
trust me...
I agree with the other guys: go with a RB with your first two picks.
Since you are in the same fantasy football league as I am, I think you should draft:
Adam Vinatieri, Mike Vanderjagt, and The Denver Broncos Team Defense (which for you isn't much of a stretch!)
