New Year's Lesson

If you need a new year's lesson and want to save a bit of prep time over the Christmas holiday break, feel free to borrow from us. Below is our new year's lesson called "Bounce". The big idea is how to bounce back when you mess up. Pretty basic new year's lesson....nothing too deep here.

Bounce

“And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway.” Romans 7:18-19

FACT: Everyone MESSES UP.

How to bounce back:

OWN it.

“For we are each responsible for our own conduct.” Galatians 6:5

USE it.

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28

DITCH it.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12

“Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.” Micah 7:8

Thought for the Week:

When I MESS UP…will I BOUNCE BACK?

Kurt,

You had a sermon download on the SYM web page for a while discussing "heaven" and "hell". I can't find it anymore and I was interested in using that resource. Any idea as to why that was taken off?

ps. I would contact Customer Care but I am sure they wouldn't know the answer to this one.

Kurt,

I stand corrected.

They are together in the What happens next series. For some reason I thought I saw them separated at one time. Thanks for doing what you do!

hey...used this lesson tonight due to the cancellation of the dinner we were supposed to host! it was a lifesaver. gave the students all a super bouncy ball & we did amazing feats with them in the gym to start off. it was wacky & fun! discussion was surprisingly deep after the craziness of the balls going everywhere in the gym! thanks!
